ABOUT THE ROLE

Join Disney's engineering team to build large-scale, high-availability backend services powering world-class digital products and platforms.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, build, and operate large-scale, high-availability backend services using Java
  • Deploy and scale applications within AWS cloud infrastructure
  • Perform performance tuning and maintain software in the critical path
  • Monitor system health using Datadog for metrics, logging, and monitoring
  • Collaborate with the team on problem-solving, design, and implementation at scale
  • Deliver high-quality software solutions on time and within budget
  • Lead, coach, and mentor team members towards achieving business goals

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field, and/or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of experience in building highly available architecture and shipping robust code
  • Experience with large-scale, high-availability backend services using Java
  • Experience with AWS (EC2, ECS, Fargate, DynamoDB, Lambda)
  • Experience with performance tuning and critical path software
  • Experience with source control and CI/CD pipelines (Git, GitHub, Jenkins)
  • Experience with AGILE/Scrum practices
  • Strong hands-on experience with Datadog for observability, metrics, logging, and monitoring (Grafana is a plus)
  • Proven leadership, coaching, and mentoring skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
