ABOUT THE ROLE
Join Disney's engineering team to build large-scale, high-availability backend services powering world-class digital products and platforms.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design, build, and operate large-scale, high-availability backend services using Java
- Deploy and scale applications within AWS cloud infrastructure
- Perform performance tuning and maintain software in the critical path
- Monitor system health using Datadog for metrics, logging, and monitoring
- Collaborate with the team on problem-solving, design, and implementation at scale
- Deliver high-quality software solutions on time and within budget
- Lead, coach, and mentor team members towards achieving business goals
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field, and/or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years of experience in building highly available architecture and shipping robust code
- Experience with large-scale, high-availability backend services using Java
- Experience with AWS (EC2, ECS, Fargate, DynamoDB, Lambda)
- Experience with performance tuning and critical path software
- Experience with source control and CI/CD pipelines (Git, GitHub, Jenkins)
- Experience with AGILE/Scrum practices
- Strong hands-on experience with Datadog for observability, metrics, logging, and monitoring (Grafana is a plus)
- Proven leadership, coaching, and mentoring skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
