About the Journal

The Society Observer is a peer-reviewed, double-blind, interdisciplinary global journal dedicated to advancing critical scholarship in the social sciences, humanities, and allied disciplines. The journal seeks to foster dialogue across disciplines and regions and welcomes contributions that combine theoretical depth with policy relevance and global perspectives.

Scope of the Journal


We publish research that engages with diverse issues including (but not limited to):

  • Sociology, Anthropology, History, Political Science, and Economics
  • Development Studies, Education, Gender and Cultural Studies
  • International Relations, Public Policy, and Global Studies
  • Peace and Conflict Studies
  • Interdisciplinary and cross-regional inquiries into contemporary societal concerns

Types of Contributions

  • Research Articles (5,000–7,500 words): Original empirical or theoretical work with significant scholarly contribution.
  • Review Papers (4,000–6,000 words): Critical syntheses of literature and emerging debates.
  • Conceptual Papers/Essays (3,000–5,000 words): Reflective and theoretical insights advancing interdisciplinary thought.
  • Case Studies/Field Notes (2,500–4,000 words): Context-based analyses with practical or policy relevance.
  • Book Reviews (1,000–1,500 words): Evaluations of recent publications aligned with the journal’s scope.

Manuscript Preparation

  • Format: Word document, Times New Roman, 12 pt., 1.5 spacing, standard margins.
  • Structure for Research Articles:
    • Title Page (with author name, affiliation, ORCID, email; a blinded copy must also be submitted without identifiers)
    • Abstract (200–250 words)
    • Keywords (4–6)
    • Introduction
    • Literature Review/Theoretical Framework
    • Methodology
    • Findings/Analysis
    • Discussion
    • Conclusion & Implications
    • References (APA 7th edition)
    • Figures and Tables: Numbered, titled, and cited in-text.
