"Rebooting Literature beyond Books" delves into the profound transformation of storytelling in the digital age. This conference will explore how Young Adult Fiction, Fan Fiction, and Digital Media are not only reshaping the literary landscape but also redefining the very essence of narrative. It is interesting to study the intersecting domains, uncovering a vibrant tapestry of creativity, innovation, and collaboration.

The Interdisciplinary Conference will delve into how these trends are breaking down barriers, amplifying diverse voices, and crafting stories that resonate on a global scale. It will also explore the future of storytelling and its power to inspire, connect, and shape a new generation of readers and creators. "Rebooting Literature beyond Books" will explore these.

Submissions of papers that examine how serialized storytelling, interactive narratives, and the power of social media are revolutionizing the genre, captivating readers of all ages are welcomed.

Submissions are welcome on topics including but not limited to:

  • The rise of digital-first YA Fiction
  • Fan fiction as literary evolution
  • Ethics of authorship in remix culture
  • The role of social media in shaping literary discourse
  • Annual National Student Conference 

Young Adult Fiction, once confined to the printed page, now thrives in a dynamic digital ecosystem.

Fan Fiction, once a niche pursuit, has exploded into a global cultural phenomenon. By remixing beloved stories, fanfiction communities empower readers to become creators, expanding narrative universes, fostering critical discussions about representation, and challenging traditional notions of authorship.

Digital Media platforms, from Wattpad and TikTok to Archive of Our Own (A03) and emerging interactive storytelling tools, are democratizing the literary world. These platforms are fostering new voices, creating immersive experiences, and challenging the very foundations of traditional publishing models.

Submissions should be professional in language and content in keeping with the academic and inclusive nature of the conference. Papers should refrain from explicit or obscene expressions while discussing Young Adult fiction.
