Who may apply: Undergraduate students (BSc/BA/IMSc/Four Year UG Programmes), with Mathematics as one of their main (major) subjects, and have just completed their second semester, or are currently in the third semester of their programme

Online Foundation Course in Mathematics (OFCM)is a flagship online initiative of the Mathematics Training and Talent Search Trust (MTTS Trust), conducted annually since 2020. It is modelled on the distinctive foundation course taught in the MTTS summer camps, with the aim of nurturing core mathematical skills among students. The primary objectives of OFCM are to enhance:

Logical and analytical thinking,
Problem solving abilities,
Independent mathematical reasoning,
Confidence in self-learning to pursue advanced courses in mathematics.

Through this course, students are introduced to the excitement of doing mathematics and are better prepared to engage with higher-level mathematical concepts.

Academic Plan

The programme details are as follows:

A total of twelve sessions during the entire programme span.
One online session each day starting at 5:30 p.m.
Each session consisting of an interactive lecture (approx. 70 minutes)
Followed by a group discussion (approx. 45 minutes).
The OFCM instructors will be active mathematicians from leading institutions across the country.

They will be supported by experienced mentors who will assist students during group discussion sessions.
